The aircraft carrier IJN Akagi was one of the most important vessels of the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II. It was part of the 1st Air Fleet, participated in the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941, and subsequently took part in the Battle of Midway, where it was sunk by the American air force in June 1942.
This large COBI collector's model in a 1:300 scale faithfully captures the characteristic proportions and important features of the historic aircraft carrier. The construction uses modern pieces and advanced building techniques. The model is equipped with two movable aircraft elevators, functional propellers and rudders, rotating gun turrets, and adjustable gun barrels. Five included colorful mini aircraft with printed details can be placed on the deck.
The building set is intended especially for experienced builders, military history collectors, and fans of highly detailed models. It requires no gluing or painting; all parts are construction bricks with durable prints. The package includes a clear illustrated instruction manual, a sturdy black display stand, and a nameplate featuring the ship's name and scale.
